What we're about

IMPORTANT! OUR EVENTS (4 to 8 every week) ARE ON OUR WEBSITE https://www.clog.org.uk (https://www.clog.org.uk/)

FACEBOOK PAGE https://www.facebook.com/CentralLondonOutdoorGroup/ .

READY TO JOIN CLOG? visit: https://membermojo.co.uk/clog

NOT READY TO JOIN CLOG? Non-members can come on 3 events (but not trips away or socials) before joining and we have a Facebook Group for people interested in CLOG but not yet members. https://www.facebook.com/groups/CLOG2

Day walks and cycle rides are free to members. Trips away are run at cost (eg to cover accommodation and/or food) or occasionally subsidised. This makes them super-cheap compared with events run by commercial outfits with paid organisers - CLOG is run entirely by volunteers.

CLOG Is for for people Interested in walking, cycling, hillwalking, kayaking, adventure travel, trips away, outdoor adventures, exploring the countryside, great outdoors, mountains and coast and making new friends.

Dislike walking or cycling in huge swarms of people? Some Meetup group outdoor events have 40+ people but not us - we typically have been 10 and 25 people on our walks and cycle rides.

If this sounds sounds right to you then then Central London Outdoor Group (CLOG) may be the group for you.

We are unlike any other Meetup Group:

• Typical numbers on events between 10 to 25 people. Yes, we do like company but not such a massive crowd that creates log-jams at stiles, overloads any pubs or cafe we visit....you get the picture!

• Meetup RSVPs are not indicative of the actual number of event attendees. Meetup is one of several social media we use and most attendees are members of CLOG and not on Meetup.

• Our walks, cycle rides, hiking trips to mountains or coast, cycle tours and other outdoor adventures are run by our members for our members. Any member can organise an event.

• Majority of our current members are over 35 but we welcome people of any age

• Long established group (actually founded in 1937!)

We have around 20 or more trips away (http://www.clog.org.uk/p/trip.html) each year for weekends and longer holidays. Around half of these are to UK destinations (mountains, coasts, National Parks and other areas that are less easy to reach from London) and the rest are to similar destinations in Europe. Trips away are run at cost (to pay for food and accommodation) or sometimes subsidised.

Walking, hillwalking, cycling and trips away are our main activities, but we also offer opportunities to try out other outdoor pursuits such as canoeing, sea kayaking, sailing, champing, orienteering and beachcombing.

All the information is on our website (http://www.clog.org.uk/).

Finally, don't forget you can like us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/CentralLondonOutdoorGroup/) and follow us on Twitter (https://twitter.com/Clogtweets). Photos from recent trips can be found on our Flickr page (https://www.flickr.com/photos/clogpics/).

NB CLOG is non-commercial and events are organised by members of the club on a voluntary basis. All participants should make themselves aware of the risks inherent in walking, cycling and other outdoor activities and take responsibility for their own actions and choices of activity.
