[EVENING] Community whack-a-mole - why bug bashes are great !
Have you ever heard of ‘Bug bashes’ before ? and/or wondered how to run them effectively?! This is a chance to learn them from the expert! As testers, we are charged with exploring - but it’s dangerous to go alone. Fortunately, we are surrounded by individuals with unique experiences that can help us on our journey. Developers, analysts, managers, designers - all can offer insights we might miss. A bug bash is an event where people from many different roles come together, all testing the same feature, at the same time. It’s a really effective way of leveraging the insights that these other roles can provide. This session will demonstrate how a bug bash can help you build a more robust product, when you should (or shouldn’t) run one, and provide tools and tips on how to make it a successful event. --------------------------------- James Espie is a software tester, currently helping to build world class giving and engagement solutions at Pushpay. He's a big believer in making life better for everyone - by building helpful, easy-to-use software; by helping other testers get better at their craft; or by taking his friends to the pub. When he's not doing the above, you can find him drawing pictures, running around in the forest, or playing video games with his wife and son. You can find him as @jamesespie on Twitter or Instagram. He also hosts the SuperTestingBros podcast with his buddy Dan, which is definitely something you should listen to. Find them on Twitter as @SuperTestingBro. --------------------------------- We're grateful to Pushpay for sponsoring the venue and snacks/juice. Doors will open at 6:00pm, and the talk will start at 6:20pm sharp.

What we're about

Public Group

WeTest is the heart of the New Zealand software testing community. We bring together people who are passionate about testing, providing a platform for sharing ideas and learning through experience-based sessions and workshops.

WeTest Auckland Attendance Policy / Three strike rule

WeTest events often have waitlists, and it’s unfair when keen members miss out due to ‘no shows’.

For this reason we have a three-strike policy. If a member has more than three ‘no-show’ marks within a calendar year, they will be removed from the group.

You will be marked as a no-show if you don’t update your RSVP by 9am on the day

We understand things do happen, so if you fall ill/have an emergency etc. after 9am, please send a comment to the organisers within a few days of the event and we’ll change your ‘no-show’ status.
