We are celebrating international women's day, GitOps Style.
This empowering event will gather female role models who innovate, challenge and embrace the world of GitOps. Inspirational women who have achieved great success within the sector and will share stories of their journey. Furthermore, they will explore the question why is it important to “Get on GitOps”.

Becoming a maintainer can help women get a seat at the top table but the female voice needs to be heard in the discussion. This session will explore the challenges our panelists have faced whilst mining their insights into GitOps and deployment applications.

Moderator Bio:
Priyanka “Pinky” Ravi, Developer Experience Engineer at Weaveworks, shows you how to bootstrap Flux to a Kubernetes cluster and deploy a sample application in a GitOps manner. By the end of this session Pinky will have bootstrapped Flux on a Kubernetes Cluster, deployed a sample application using Flux, and customized application configuration through Kustomize patches.

Panel Bios:

Mae Large Staff Field Engineer at VMware,
Worked as a software developer/engineer throughout her career starting in the Philippines where she was born and raised. She had the opportunity to work in Finland and in India at a consulting capacity. She also worked for State Farm for 15 years in various roles focused on SDLC (software dev lifecycle) and drove the Delivery Engineering topic where she continuously simplified how features (code change) ultimately makes it to the hands of their customers. This same topic is what Mae is currently engaged on at VMware as a field engineer, focusing on providing a sustainable and secure software supply chain to our customers.

Cornelia Davis, Products, Alexa AI at Amazon, has spent that career at the forefront of technological innovation, starting out doing image processing algorithm development, moving to web-centric computing in the late 1990s, spent much of the last decade working in cloud-native software and infrastructure (yes, including Kubernetes) and now works on artificial intelligence and natural language processing. She is the author of Cloud Native Patterns: Designing change tolerant software. Cornelia currently works on Alexa products at Amazon.
