Blockchain is an emerging technology with an estimated market size of $60 Billion in next 5 years. Fast growing adoption of blockchain technology will lead to massive opportunities that will shape the next generation web applications and democratize the data from big corporations to distributed ledgers.

Join Alexandre Bourget, from EOS Canada and dfuse.io, in a hands on discovery of EOSIO** blockchain data structures and semantics. We will explore what any dapp developer needs to understand when interacting with such a blockchain, and see its potential come alive.

Knowing Alexandre, we should have a blast.

Other talks:

  • Introduction to decentralized Application - Shaheen Counts (EOS Blocksmith)
  • EOS Studio - Graphical IDE For EOS DApp Development - Rose Ren

Guest Presenters:

Alexandre Bourget
Alexandre lives through technology. He wrote his first botnet at 12, later graduated in classical piano, and went on to a prolific career in software engineering, with notable open source contributions. Alexandre co-founded two startups, including Bitcredits (a bitcoin payments processor, FounderFuel 2014 Spring Cohort). He then helped PasswordBox (acquired by Intel) craft their data stack and ended up as a lead Data Scientist in the Intel Security Consumer division. Today, Alexandre is very active in the blockchain space, advising several early stage companies. Alexandre taught programming for many years. He does live-coding presentations like no one else (Confoo, PyCon conferences) and is the lead organizer of Golang Montréal. You’ll often find him on Telegram, working through lines of code and bugs with others, doing what he can to help build the EOS community.

Shaheen Counts
After graduating from medical school Shaheen completed a residency in Head and Neck surgery and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. It was shortly thereafter that he became enraptured by Bitcoin and blockchain technology. He joined Blockchain@Berkely as a business consultant, later leaving in 2018 to start his own blockchain education and technology consultancy. He is an avid blockchain evangelist and has a fundamental belief in the power that blockchain technology has to change the world for the better.

The workshop is targeted for any developer with technology background and coding experience in any domain. There will be optional hands on sessions for advanced programmers to start developing and experimenting with tools.

*Event is sponsored by Blockstart (A silicon valley incubator for decentralized applications). You will also get a chance to sign up for incubation program and opportunity to develop your own ideas as well as work on some emerging projects in the space.

**EOSIO is the most used public blockchain in terms of number of daily users and second largest public blockchain platform in market cap for developing decentralized applications.
