How long have you been working on improving website performance?

As long as I remember myself - gzip-ing and cache headers were on my list of things since I first read HTTP RFC back in the day.

How did you first become interested in making sites faster?

I don't even remember first time, but first presentations by Steve Souders made me realize that this area got so neglected that it must be addressed as quickly as possible and web world needs saving from slow sites.

I organize New York Web Performance Meetup Group and a big fan of making web sites fast!
