Website Speed and Conversion Rates

Details

Slow loading time doesn’t only affect your users, it also potentially defers them from visiting your website and using your product. Page loading time directly affects conversions, page views, direct revenues and how Google ranks your pages.

There are a few hundreds of “signals” that determine where a webpage ranks in Google: page relevance, backlinks, social signals, fresh content, speed and many other ranking factors. Website performance optimization became one of the major topics discussed by Google, Microsoft, Facebook and many large and small companies who care for all of the above.

Alla will help you sort out the impact of page loading time over conversions to better understand the stakes involved in improving page speed.

Alla Gringaus (@agringaus) is a Performance Solution Architect at Rigor. She has worked with well-established technology and media brands such as TIME, People, Economist, American Kennel Club and many others carrying hands-on and leading roles in front-end development and UX design.

She always championed Web Performance to make the sites fast, and rigorously works on establishing performance culture and making speed a requirement rather than one of the features. Alla’s journey continues at Rigor where she nurtures her creative and technical skills through web performance optimization (WPO).
