At Dotdash Meredith (DDM), America's largest online and print publisher, web performance is not only a priority for the engineering organization, but one of the company's top three goals. In this meetup we'll have two talks at the DDM offices at 225 Liberty. The first talk covers how observability, DevOps, QA, SEO and engineering monitor performance across DDM brands, and the second talk is a deep dive into some of approaches in building and maintaining their framework, "Globe", for optimized performance in browsers.

Brian Piccione is the Sr Director of Brand Platform Engineering at America's largest print & digital publisher Dotdash Meredith. Brian got started on the web creating custom MySpace pages and Adobe flash sites and has since helped everything from tiny businesses up to enterprise level teams produce delightful user experiences. As an experienced web development leader, Brian enjoys teaching others to make the web a better experience for everyone.

Russell Brown is Manager of Performance Engineering at Dotdash Meredith (DDM). He specializes in optimizing speeds for SEO, ad-driven web applications in the publishing industry. He was the founding software engineer at Fortune Media in their carveout from Meredith/TimeInc and at DDM he leads a small team of engineers to collaborate across teams to monitor and improve speed across all brands.

We'll be at Dotdash Meredith offices, they will also be providing the food and drinks for the event!
