Want to speak? Just contact any organizer or assistant organizer - Pepper or Dieter Here is information about TECH HIRE Job Opportunities: In June 2016, Wake Tech Community College announced they had received a TechHire grant award from the US Department of Labor to implement their TechHire training program known as Project SECURE (Supporting and Enhancing CyberSecurity through Upwardly-mobile Retraining and Education). This program is targeted at individuals between the ages of 17 -29. The Capital Area Workforce Development Board – a partner in the grant application - will be the initial point of contact for those interested in participating in this program. To learn more, please visit their website and complete their interest form under “Contact Us” - http://www.triangletechhire.com/ Go for it! Please consider moderating a meeting! It takes only a small amount of preparation and the back-and-forth discussion is much more lively than a Q&A session after a "powerpoint and bullets" lecture style presentation. We often have Open Floor discussions on topics chosen by a volunteer moderator. Some tickler topics: Building skills, or, what new software/services have you learned (or written!) Tips and Techniques for effective design by newbies Web SEO, marketing and evaluating results Book or article reviews - read or written! Focus Group style Web Site Tear Downs - Mitch Format of Meeting, and Time We make a few minutes available as a meet-eat-and-greet time prior to any presentations or shop talk. We start formally at 7pm, but arriving at 6:45pm will give you time to get settled in and enjoy some pizza and soda courtesy of our host, Tek Systems. We typically do a round-robin greeting just before the action starts at 7pm. We will end the greeting period with announcements, and then give the floor to the presenter or moderator. Be sure to arrive early so you are not locked out of the doors on the first floor. They lock at 7pm. Consider the benefits of moderating, presenting lecture style, or giving a tutorial: Enhanced Credibility Visibility For Your Business Increased Good Will Speakers, THANK YOU for your participation. We Thank Our Sponsors and Organizers Peppergraphics (http://www.peppergraphics.com/) Agile Markup Corporation (http://www.agilemarkup.com/) Feliz Applications (http://www.felizapps.com/) TekSystems (http://www.teksystems.com/locations/teksystems-united-states/raleigh) MichaelKimsal (http://michaelkimsal.com/blog/) About the Locations Recent meetings have been held at TekSystems' offices at the corner of Edwards Mills and Trinity Road. Outside doors of the building lock at 7pm - we will try to have a posted paper with a cell number to call or text or have a person at the door - but arriving promptly will help avoid a wait and avoid someone having to leave the meeting to come downstairs to let you in.. We vacate the Tek Systems building by 9pm at the latest so staff can go home! Check the menu on our Web site for Past Meetups and or shared files you may have missed.

What we're about

The Web Design Meetup is an open floor forum for people with Web-related problems or interests. No matter what your background or skill level, amateur or expert, freelancer, entrepreneur, developer, or other, you're welcome to attend!

Attendance is usually diverse and mixed. Ticker topics are set in advance to spur ideas. The format for the regular monthly meetup is always "open floor". People should feel at ease to raise issues that concern them and ask for help. Contributions are completely voluntary. The most important contribution you can make is leading a discussion or offering a tutorial.

So whether you're a designer with a Web business, a businessperson with a site, or a novice with technical questions, please come on out and join us. No doubt you'll find someone here who can respond.

[i]A personal note: Web designers and developers are invited to participate at all levels. So go ahead and join the group if your interest is in finding potential clients and skill resources. Just have some enthusiasm for the tech, or you want to participate as meeting moderators or as an assistant organizer? It's your ballgame, I'm just here to coach. [i]
