Warming up with Ember and Firebase

Details
Description: JavaScript frameworks are everywhere. While they all have their own merit and following, let's explore Ember. We will leverage the Ember CLI to build out a simple website quickly that is broken down into small, manageable components. To take this a step further, we'll connect to Firebase, a realtime database API, to create and update content on the site. Most of the markup and styles will be carried over but some work will still be done in the Handlebars template files. The focus of this evening will be JavaScript.
About The Speaker: Dan Yuschick is the Front-End Engineering Instructor at The Iron Yard in Durham, NC.
Want to speak? Just contact any organizer or assistant organizer - Pepper, Dieter, Michael, or Mitch!
Please consider moderating a meeting! It takes only a small amount of preparation and the back-and-forth discussion is much more lively than a Q&A session after a "powerpoint and bullets" lecture style presentation.
We often have Open Floor discussions on topics chosen by a volunteer moderator. Some tickler topics:
Building skills, or, what new software/services have you learned (or written!)
Tips and Techniques for effective design by newbies
Web SEO, marketing and evaluating results
Book or article reviews - read or written!
Focus Group style Web Site Tear Downs

Format of Meeting, and Time
We make a few minutes available as a meet-eat-and-greet time prior to any presentations or shop talk. We start formally at 7pm, but arriving at 6:45pm will give you time to get settled in and enjoy some pizza and soda courtesy of our host, Tek Systems.
We typically do a round-robin greeting just before the action starts at 7pm. We will end the greeting period with announcements, and then give the floor to the presenter or moderator.
Be sure to arrive early so you are not locked out of the doors on the first floor. They lock at 7pm.
Consider the benefits of moderating, presenting lecture style, or giving a tutorial:
Enhanced Credibility
Visibility For Your Business
Increased Good Will
Speakers, THANK YOU for your participation.

This meetup is held at TEKsystems' new offices on Wake Park Blvd. The office building is located at the northern corner of the park and has the TEKsystems logo on top of the building. Outside doors of the building lock at 7pm - we will try to have a posted paper with a cell number to call or text or have a person at the door - but arriving promptly will help avoid a wait and avoid someone having to leave the meeting to come downstairs to let you in..
We vacate the Tek Systems building by 9pm at the latest so staff can go home!
Check the menu on our Web site for Past Meetups and or shared files you may have missed.
