WebGL and GLSL Intro (Academy and Pixel Spirit)

Location image of event venue

Please RSVP on Skills Matters sign up page as this allows them to organise things at their end (rooms and what not) here -- )

As featured in my last email, the next meet up will continue to focus on WebGL and shader basics using the web sites "WebGL Academy (" and "The Book of Shaders (" (along with the Pixel Spirit deck (

Take a look at WebGL Academy beforehand (not obligatory but jolly helpful) and don't forget to bring a laptop if you want to code along.

Pixel Spirit is a Tarot-style deck of cards intended as a picturesque introduction to shaders. Each card has a picture for the "player" to contemplate before attempting to write a shader to recreate the image. The other side of the card lists the code to do just that.

Pixel Spirit is a project from Patricio Gonzalez Vivo the author to the Book of Shaders web-site.

Show 'n' tell
Don't forget that if you'd like to show off/get feedback on any WebGL related project you may have, drop me a line for inclusion in the line up.

Arrival from 6:30 for a 7:00 start

Pizza, drinks and networking before and after! (If you have any special dietary requirements, let me know!)

The Skills Matter venue is wheelchair accessible.

Code of Conduct, Skills Matter and Khronos all have codes of conduct which apply to our meet ups, so I don’t see the need to add another to the pile. Suffice it to say that all attendees are welcome and expected to treat each other respectfully, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, or religion (or lack thereof). As a participant at one of our events, you agree to be nice, considerate, and civil toward other participants.
