What we're about

This dog friendly group is for those in their 20s to 70s, appealing to students, tourists or long-term visitors, shift workers , part time workers , the relatively recent retired or anyone else who may happen to have free time during the week , to enjoy daytime walks in mostly wonderful natural surroundings of between 7 and 11 miles in length plus possibly some shorter walks of 3 to 5 miles during the week either in London itself or by easy reach by train journey.

Tea Pot Island, Twyford Bridge, pretty East Farleigh & meandering River Medway

A most beautiful walk of around 9.5 miles by the River Medway. Please arrive by 9.30am so we can buy group train tickets to Maidstone West at around £13 each for the 10.09am train that arrives at 11.15am at Beltring after a change of train at Tonbridge. Meetup fee £5. We shall stop for lunch at the delightful Tea Pot Island at around noon and also visit a pub in East Farleigh or near the end of the walk before aiming to take the train at 4.58pm that arrives back in London at 6.33pm after changing at Paddock Wood. You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity. Guildford to Godalming along the stunning Wey River

A truly beautiful 9 mile river walk in the Surrey countryside yet so close to London ! We shall first walk by the River Wey then have our lunch by the bandstand at Godalming before walking to the Stag on the River pub further downstream in Eashing before walking back to Godalming. Please come on time so as to facilitate the purchase of group train tickets at around £13.50 a person ( to Godalming ) for the 10.30am train that arrives at Guildford at 11.03am. Meetup fee £5. Please bring packed lunch , snacks , water etc , waterproof jacket and walking shoes/ trainers/ boots. Approximate timings : 11.15- 1pm walk to Godalming.....1pm-1.45pm lunch.....1.45pm-2.45pm walk to Stag on the River......2.45pm-3.45pm at the pub....3.45-4.45pm walk back to Godalming.....4.51pm-5.43pm train back to London. Constable Country

Next to Delice de France, near platforms 3/4

A most beautiful 8 mile walk in the countryside by the River Stour in Constable Country where Constable painted the famous Flatford Mill and The Hay Wain ! We shall take the train at NOON that arrives at Manningtree at 12.55pm so please arrive by 11.30am to buy return train tickets to Manningtree at around £19 each. Meetup fee £5. Please bring packed lunch , water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking boots or failing that walking shoes/trainers. You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour. We shall have a coffee before aiming to take the 5.19pm train direct back to London arriving at 6.19pm. My no is[masked]

Princes Risborough Circular Walk

Outside M&S Food

A beautiful circular walk of 9.5 miles in the Chiltern Hills with great scenery comprising woodland, fields and undulating countryside with a couple of steep sections. Please arrive by 9.35am so that we can buy group return train tickets to Princes Risborough at £14.85 each and we shall take the train at 10.13am that arrives at 10.59am. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers. You should have adequate insurance for this type of activity plus be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour. We shall go to a pub at the half way point and again at the end and shall aim to take the 4.46pm train back that arrives at 5.39pm. Meetup fee £5. My no[masked]
