What we're about

This dog friendly group is for those in their 20s to 70s, appealing to students, tourists or long-term visitors, shift workers , part time workers , the relatively recent retired or anyone else who may happen to have free time during the week , to enjoy daytime walks in mostly wonderful natural surroundings of between 7 and 11 miles in length plus possibly some shorter walks of 3 to 5 miles during the week either in London itself or by easy reach by train journey.

Radlett Circular

Needs a location

A most wonderful 8 mile walk taking in the glorious countryside as well as Aldenham Country Park and its beautiful reservoir.

We shall take the Thameslink train at 10.48am that stops at West Hampstead at 10.59am, Mill Hill Bway at 11.08am and Radlett at 11.16am.

Train ticket : return to Radlett

Or you may decide to drive.

The walk shall commence by 11.30am.

Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking boots /walking shoes/trainers.

Meetup fee £5 payable in cash or by bank transfer in advance.

We shall have a drink around lunchtime and maybe a coffee at the end of the walk.

Regents Park, Regents Canal , Primrose Hill and Little Venice

Needs a location

A most wonderful 5 to 6 mile walk featuring the boat lake in beautiful Regents Park, Regents Canal and Little Venice stopping off to walk up Primrose Hill for fabulous views over London !

We shall set off at 10.15am.

At Little Venice we shall have a drink and maybe lunch too in a canalside pub.

Things to bring : water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers.

Meetup fee £5.

You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity.

Forest Way - East Grinstead to Groombridge

Needs a location

A really wonderful and delightfully tranquil 10 mile walk in East Sussex High Weald Area of Natural Beauty on the Forest Way in the River Medway valley.

The path starts going southbound at the roundabout by the Littlefair Care Home.

Please arrive by 9.05am so that we can buy group train tickets to East Grinstead or use your passes : 9.37am train that arrives at East Grinstead at 10.50am after changing at East Croydon.

Return train ticket : East Grinstead.

Or you may decide to drive

The walk shall commence by 11am.

Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and trainers/boots/walking shoes.

You should be able to walk 2.5 miles an hour on the flat and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity.

We shall have a drink around lunchtime at Hartfield and then again at the end of the walk before taking the 291 bus back to East Grinstead from Groombridge at 4.27pm and then subsequent direct train back to London at 5.36pm.

Petts Wood and Chislehurst caves

Needs a location

A most wonderful 7 to 8 mile walk in Petts Wood, Hawkwood Estate, St Paul's Cray Common, Park Wood and Scadbury Park.

After the walk at 4pm we shall visit the famous Chislehurst caves and you can book online in advance for the 4pm tour costing £7 ( £5 for 60+ ) or you can pay on the day at the ticket office.

Please arrive by 9.55am for the 10.13am train to Chislehurst arriving at 10.33am using our Oyster Cards.

Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots or trainers.

We shall have a drink towards the end of the walk and aim to take the train back to London from Chislehurst at around 5pm.

Meetup fee £5 payable in cash or by bank transfer in advance.
