Online Meetup – 線上聚會

Online event

We will meet online for our Mandarin Chinese & English Language Exchange Free Event.
We will use the Zoom video conference software.

Meetup time:
14:00–17:00 GMT – Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+00:00)
14:00–17:00 UTC – Coordinated Universal Time
15:00–18:00 CET – Central European Time (UTC+01:00)
22:00–01:00 China Standard Time (UTC+08:00)
06:00–09:00 PST – Pacific Standard Time (UTC-08:00)
09:00–12:00 EST – Eastern Standard Time (UTC-05:00)

The Zoom Meeting ID and password will be shared with the attendees shortly before the start time of the event through the online link on this web page, and additionally as an email message sent through Meetup.com (you may or may not receive this message depending on the notification settings that you have setup on your Meetup.com profile). Due to security reasons, this information will not be shared publicly.
If you have any issues, please contact Mario through a Meetup.com message.

Please prepare the following in advance:

1) Download and install the Zoom App, on your computer (Windows, Linux, macOS) or your phone/tablet (Android, iOS):
https://zoom.us/
Note that you may be able to connect to the meeting on the website just using a browser on a computer - however it seems to have more issues and to be less reliable than the App.

2) Test your audio settings (microphone and speaker) to check that they are working correctly.

Tips for a better audio experience:
* Stay in a quiet room without any background noise.
* Avoid using a laptop’s integrated microphone and speakers, their audio quality is generally quite poor and they introduce a lot of background noise. Use a good quality headset if possible (or at least a cheap one).
* Mute yourself while you are not speaking, to reduce the background noise. Use the Mute button in the Zoom App, rather than any mute button that you might have on your headset – that might not disable the integrated microphone.
