Carrizo Plains Wildflowers & Painted Rock
Santa Rosa Park, Santa Rosa Street, San Luis Obispo, CA, USCarrizo Plains Wildflowers & Painted Rock (hoping for a super bloom)
Carrizo Plain National Monument is a magnificent landscape reminiscent of yesteryear Central California. The remote plain is what’s left of the massive grasslands that once covered this part of the Golden State. Today, Carrizo Plains is known for being one of the prime spring wildflower bloom spots in California, which attracts thousands of visitors each year.

The inside of the U-shaped sandstone rock was covered with beautifully detailed and colorful rock paintings by the Chumash and other Native peoples that lived in the coastal regions of California long ago. This is a National Monument guided tour.
**Pets are not allowed at Painted RockAlternate hike for everyone else: WALLACE CREEK Interpretive Trail - 11:00 am (1.7 miles, elevation gain 203 ft, 2 hours, route type: out & back)

Wallace creek displays a large tear stretching across the land over San Andreas fault line.PICNIC POTLUCK: 2:00 pm at the Goodwin Education Center. Please bring something to share.
After lunch hike: SODA LAKE BOARDWALK & OVERLOOK (1.3 miles, elevation gain 173 ft, 1.5 hours)

Hollywood Sign Hike & Paradise Cove
Vons, 520 W. Tefft St, Nipomo, CA, USHollywood Sign & Paradise Cove
The Hollywood Sign is an American landmark and cultural icon overlooking Hollywood, California. Situated on Mount Lee in the Beachwood Canyon, it originally read "Hollywoodland," an advertising beacon for a local real estate development consisting of 4,000 light bulbs, which alternately flashed in successive segments "HOLLY," "WOOD," and "LAND." After tumbling in decay, it was rebuilt in 1978 with a more durable all-steel structure, spelling out the word "Hollywood" in 45-foot-tall white uppercase letters and 350 feet long.
We will hike to the top of Mount Lee, overlooking the Hollywood Sign and all of L.A.
