Meditation and Readings Discussion - Krishnamurti

Before there was Zen in the west...before there were hundreds of people talking about nonduality on the internet...there was Krishnamurti. His early life is the stuff of legends. He was found by the Theosophists (yeah the ones in Wheaton) in India as a boy and groomed to be Maitreya the coming world teacher. He walked away from them and said "truth is a pathless land". Other insights he stated were "the observer is the observed" and "you are the world". After leaving the theosophists he taught around the world for the rest of his life and it is said that he has talked to more people in person than anyone in recorded history. The book we will read, Truth and Actuality,  has a couple of conversations with the physicist David Bohm and a few public talks. He is not for the new seeker. It is not that what he is saying is complex or highly philosophical as he talks in everyday plain is just that if you have not been introspective for awhile what he is pointing out may be difficult to ascertain at first glance. There are a bunch of videos of him on youtube. Here is one that talks about his life.

Here is a talk with Chogyam Trungpa on meditation.

Here is the book...

Here is a link to the book online.

Let's finish up the book. So everything after the dialogues with Prof. Bohm.

I drove by the building today. The street in front is plowed and the back lot was plowed. I'll try and get there a little earlier to get the heat on...I think there has been no yoga there for a week.

I will not be venturing out in this bitter cold. I was looking forward to being back. My arthritis is painful these days.

I will try my best to be there on time. Really liked the meditation I was able to attend by Eric a while back.
