gRPC – High performance microservices with Charles Vallance

Details

gRPC is a high performance, standards based, open source, general purpose, feature rich RPC framework built upon http/2 protobufs. It's easiest comparison is to Apache Thrift or Swagger REST.

It’s a member of the Could Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and it’s the spiritual successor to Stubby - which is google’s internal RPC framework used to communicate between their trillions of microservices.

This session will cover:

  • Brief history of RPC
  • What is gRPC (including HTTP/2 protobufs)
  • Creation of a gRPC server client in .NET Core.

Catering: Thanks to MS Communities and Raygun
Venue: Thanks to Inov8
