Exercise your way, your choice: tiny changes for big results
Details
PROGRAMME
We all know that one major requirement for a good (long, happy, healthy) old age is exercise. It's never too late to start, and it's never too early either. But how much exercise and what sort of exercise is necessary? More important, what sort of exercise will we truly enjoy? Because if it's not fun, we stop. How can we change our habits?
- Meet and greet upstairs in the Embassy Theatre, Kent Terrace.
- First we will review the value of exercise for a healthy body and brain in old age, according to reliable research. Briefly, because you know this!
- Then we'll look at the types and amount of exercise considered necessary for a healthy old body and brain.
- Discussion: we'll each do a quick audit of our current exercise, check what's missing, and note the kind of exercise we enjoy.
- Then we'll each decide on one simple action and one tiny habit that will shift our exercise in the right direction. They have to be very easy: two tiny goals you cannot fail to meet.
This MeetUp tackles one of 12 lifestyle areas that influence the quality of life in old age. It could be the start of your bootie camp for the bonus years: taking baby steps towards a happy, healthy old age.
