Pet First Aid Course
Details
Wellington Cat Lovers’ Meetup group presents a unique opportunity to take a cat-centered pet first aid course for a specially discounted price. Please contact us for price information.
PET First Aid was created to deal with issues seen specifically in NZ such as poisons. The course is taught by a vet nurse who has a comprehensive ability to talk about issues that can be very species specific. For example, since this course is for people who love cats, the instructor will discuss the common issues surrounding cats and even demonstrate some important rescue techniques on a willing cat.
Each person who attends receives a full colour 64-page manual with the latest updates and research (the manual is updated every year and the 2017 issue is to be released in May). The manual is written in conjunction with two vets and covers 23 different modules from vital signs to CPR, rescue breathing, abdominal obstructions, broken bones, burns, hyperthermia, hypothermia, poisons, bleeding, head injuries, foreign bodies and more.
They also receive four poison information sheets, two information sheets on plants, one on foods and one on household items, an emergency response plan, a certificate once they have completed the quiz (this is done throughout the course),
Participants also get a sample of Orijen or Acarna food, and a 20% off purchase for Acarna or Orijen pet food.
Food and drink will be provided.
If there is enough interest, we can host another course on Sunday the 14th. We will contact people on the waiting list directly to notify you of this new event.
