More info about talks:

Talk: "What support keeps from you"
Speaker: Vanessa Love
Abstract: Support through their dealings with the users of your software and services hold a treasury of information. Most of this information is kept from you. It isn't because they don't like you (well they might) it's because they don't know you or there isn't a process to get that info to you. My hope is to convince you that you should be best friends with your support staff, because they are all awesome.

Talk: "Why service mesh? Why now? What next?"
Speaker: Jeyappragash JJ
Abstract: A typical IT organization grows their portfolio of applications over time. This creates silo'd systems of record. Systems built on top of these silo'd systems need access to the data from those legacy systems. Dealing with complexities of interconnect, while still staying secure and allowing for developer agility is challenging and tedious. This results in longer development time and increased operational load. Service mesh works to create the abstraction to unify these and provides a way to get modern applications interact with existing legacy apps in a uniform way. This also centralizes all the operational aspects thereby reducing the operational load.

Talk: "Mobile DevOps"
Speaker: Vishesh Oberoi / @ovishesh
Abstract: In this sessions Vish will walk you through the Visual Studio Mobile Center that could help you Build, Test and Distribute (and more) your iOS, Windows and Android apps all from one single portal. This is an evolution of Hockey Apps, Xamarin Test Cloud and a few more integrations.

Talk: "Building Immutable Infrastructure without using Containers"
Speaker: Donovan Jones
Abstract: Donovan will talk about building an Immutable Infrastructure Platform over the last year based on standard IaaS components. He will then look at the prods and cons of using VMs and containers to implement this pattern.

Talk: "Fragging Agile"
Speaker: Clarke Ching
Abstract: This is a fictional story about how to use Bad measurements to ruin DevOps and Agile ... and what to do instead. It's based on a true story.

Talk: "Monitoring 101"
Speaker: Jason Yee
Abstract: Dynamic infrastructure enabled by cloud providers and container technology has provided numerous benefits, including the ability to scale like never before. But it has also made monitoring more complicated and demands that we evolve our monitoring strategies. In this lightning talk we’ll look at a framework for your metrics to know what data to collect, how to make sense of it.

Talk: "Up in Smoke"
Speaker: Daniel Larsen / @DanielLarsenNZ
Abstract: Pester is an opensource BDD Testing framework for PowerShell that is useful for Smoke Tests, Integration/API Tests, and Database Tests in your Continuous deployment pipeline. Pester offers BDD style fixtures and beautiful test output. PowerShell is also opensource and is being ported to Linux. This lightning talk will give a quick demo of what’s possible and how to get started.
