July Wellington Drupal Meetup - beer, pizza, sprinting
Details
Kia ora all. Some interesting chats, chances to learn new things, and opportunities to give back to the community happening this month.
WHEN: 4th July, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
WHERE: Catalyst IT Level 3 (Level 6, 150 Willis St, Te Aro)
AGENDA:
Newbie spotlight - An optional opportunity for new people to the group to say a quick intro and tell us a bit about what you're doing with Drupal. Are you looking for work? Are any of the organisations at the meetups hiring? Are you short on Drupal buddies or looking for a hand with a project?
Drupal Job Opportunities - This is so if people want to attend just the first part of the meetup in pursuit of work / recruiting staff, they can do so shamelessly. Are you looking for a Drupal job? Do you need Drupal staff? This segment over the first 5mins of the event is for you.
Drupal Contribution & Sprints - Each week, we will discuss contributions currently being made to the Drupal community, who is doing it, and what we can all do to help. When is the next Drupal Sprint? Where is it being ran? How can you get involved? These questions will also be answered each month.
Module Highlight - This is a repeating part of our agenda that we will have during every meetup. It is where those of us who have modules we'd like to talk about take the stage tell us a bit about the module that they are currently in love with and what they've used it for.
Drupal 8 Modules, where is the love needed? Contrib Sprint Planning - A session to get more traction on this (https://groups.drupal.org/node/517018) community initiative to do another collective sprint on a d8 project that needs attention.
PIZZA - Provided by Sparks Interactive - cheers! Vege, gluten free available (if you have special dietary requirements, Please let us know in advance by emailing directly to alex@xequals.co.nz)
GovHack Shout-Out- Eddie Sammuel from Sparks would like to do a shout-out for GovHack and invite the Drupal community to come along.
NZ Drupal Consortium at other Events - Here's an idea... what if we as the Wellington Drupal community pitched to give talks at other web related events? There are plenty every year, and it's totally relevant for the Drupal community to have some representation. Open discussion around this.
Case Study - Open call for anyone who wants to do a case study on a Drupal project they have recently done / are doing.
Drupal Q & A - A repeating section if there is time to share questions and answers, providing support to each other and the wider community on good Drupal solutions architecture. This session really is the lifeblood of the meetups - come along and get your questions about Drupal answered. Useful for newbies and veterans alike to get peer feedback, solutions, insights and leads.
REFRESHMENTS & SPONSORS: Beer and pizza are provided by the very lovely Sparks Interactive. Thanks Sparks! You guys are awesome! If only everyone else were as good at providing beer and pizza as you... you have a special place in our heart.
