Hi all,

This meetup is all about 3d printing! First up, we've got Cameron Berry from ink3d (http://ink3d.nz/) talking about commercial 3d printing, and the custom 3d scanner that they've been working on in-house.

Next up we have Isabella Molloy (her second presentation with us) talking about lenticular printing using 3d printing techniques. From their abstract:

"The idea was inspired by lenticular printing in which interlaced images are displayed under a ridged lense which when viewed from varying angles are seen consecutively in order to create the illusion of depth, motion, and animation. The collection explores how this and similar techniques can be effected by moving from 2d surfaces to 3d objects."

Finally, we have a presentation by Tor Robinson that discusses a project that explores 3D printed kinetic objects. From their abstract:

“"Orbit” is a collection of spinning tops that will return the user to the sense of joy and play often not experienced since childhood. The user’s focus is narrowed to a small spinning system that encourages discovery and wonder. The unique qualities provided by Stratasys’ multi-material Connex3 technology are utilised to transform these objects through centrifugal force, creating shifts in both colour and form. "

Finally, we'll have a discussion around ProcJam 2016 (https://itch.io/jam/procjam), which has snuck up yet again!

Looking forward to seeing you all there (and for beers afterwards),

Chris, Tom and Tane
