    Yo motion design fam! We’re here to announce the next meet-up (yes, well ahead of time) - it’ll be Thursday July 11th from 6-8pm @ the Fox&Co office. This meet-up will feature a typography talk from our good friend Adam Glucksman and a surprise activity later in the evening. We know it's been slightly more than 6 weeks since our last meetup, but we're excited to announce that our next one will be THIS THURSDAY – 23rd May, 6-8pm @ our usual meeting spot (Fox & Co Office). In addition to our classic show & tell (holler if you want to share anything specific!), Paul and Ryan will be gracing us with a chat about their recent work on Te Papa's new Te Taiao | Nature exhibition.   • March Motion Design Meetup!

    We’re excited to announce the first Motion Design Meet-Up of 2019! The meet-up will be held at the Fox & Co office in Mount Cook on Thursday, March 14th from 6-8pm. We’d love to begin the year with a “show and tell” to see what you’ve been working on. There are 3 x spots that are 10 minutes each where designers can play their work and tell us about it. If you’d like to show your work, then please email alanna @ foxandco.design (ignore the spaces) with the work you’d like to showcase by Monday, March 11. The spots will fill quickly, so don't hesitate to get in touch! See you all next week!

    Yo yo motion peeps! Daylight savings is right around the corner, and so is this month’s Motion Design Meet-up! We know it’s been a little while, so we’re going to keep it casual this month and catchup next Thursday, October 4 at Fortune Favours! If you haven’t been there before, Fortune Favours is located on 7 Leeds Street in Welly CBD (and we’ll have some tables reserved on level 2).     Hey folks, we're excited to announce the next Motion Design Meetup featuring guest speaker Paul Darragh, AKA Bemodern! You won't want to miss it. Paul's an Artist & Designer currently practicing from ‘The Barn’ in Matamata, New Zealand. Over the last ten years Darragh was living and working in New York City. Four of these years he was founder & creative director of the design studio, Manhattan Born, located in the city's East Village. Manhattan Born produced some highly creative projects, including giant animated billboards in Times Square for make-up retailer Sephora, as well as branding The Soul Train Awards. As a freelance creative, Darragh has had the pleasure of contributing artwork to some fantastic projects. He designed and illustrated artwork for Rihanna’s Rude Boy Music Video, created custom pop-a-shot machines for Nike at the World Basketball Tournament, and most recently was an Art Director for the New York Times experiential design studio, Fake Love. Darragh has now returned to New Zealand where he is continuing to collaborate with studios in New York and around the word and extend his fine art practice exhibiting paintings. www.bemodern.co.nz A special thanks for the ace team at Fox&Co for bringing Paul down to present.

  • Last Motion Design Meetup of the Year!

    Calling all meetup mates! Summer is around the corner, and so is this month’s Motion Design Meetup! Join us next Thursday for the last Meetup of the year – we'll have the usual drinks, nibbles and show & tell, along with the Creature Dance Party reveal (finally!). And to make sure we really go out with a bang, we're excited to have Phoebe Morris join us to chat about her awesome illustration skills (see more info on her below). So, save the date and see you all next week. Cheers! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phoebe has been illustrating for herself since about 1996, and for other people since 2013. From a small studio on Cuba street, she has collaborated with acclaimed author David Hill on award winning picture-book biographies of famous New Zealanders for Penguin NZ; Sir Edmund Hillary (First to the Top, 2015), Burt Munro (Speed King, 2016) and Jean Batten (Sky High, 2017). Phoebe also creates illustrations for apps, websites, editorials, animation and interior design. She has experience in branding and creative strategy, digital marketing, copy writing, event promotion and social media management. Phoebe has given talks at Massey University, local schools and the 2017 Industry of Imagination conference. Previous clients include Penguin NZ, Trade Me, Xero, Spark, Kiwibank, Acme & Co, Experience agency and The Wireless. http://phoebemorriscreative.com/
