Ukulele Tuesdays - Weekly at 7pm

Join us tonight @ 7.00pm, The Office Bar & Cafe, 124 Riddiford Street, Newtown, Wellington. Absolute Beginners & all levels welcome. BYO Ukulele & Koha. Spare ukes available.

Come out of the ukulele closet and join the Ukulele Revolution. Relax and strum along with us for a fun ukulele jam session. All songs and chord charts provided - just bring You and Uke and Koha.

We usually warm up with some 3 chord popular/folk/culture songs to encourage our beginners to join in, then we step-up gear as the night ticks on.

We're also dusting off well-loved classic hits and bringing them to life with the Mighty Uke. Leonard Cohen classics like "Dance Me to the End of Love" Johnny Cash "Ring of Fire" Del Shannon "Runaway" Roy Orbison "Blue Bayou" and many more!

Please note:
If you don't have an affordable Beginners Ukulele instrument and not sure where to go or no time to do it, email [masked] We'll get you a beginners ukulele to start you up and take home to practice with every day.

You may just find You and Uke will become happy life long friends :)

Was amazing. I have very little experience, but it challenged me and I feel like I learned a lot. I'll be coming back.

Hi Erin, thank you for organising this for our Uke group - much appreciated! I'm sure many of us want to go together. I've just returned from teaching the Ukulele Beginners group - it was FUN! I also host the Wellington region Transmission Meditation group every Sunday night and they're all due to arrive at my doorstep soon. So I'll send my usual weekly update email to our Ukulele Tuesday group after we finish meditation tonight, and include your offer and request re. WIOU! Wow! I imagine it'll be a night to remember for us all. Perhaps it will be the first time for many of our ukers going to a WIUO concert too. Thanks again Erin for your kind offer.
See you on Ukulele Tuesday night.

    Warm cheers

Hi Sophia, I was wondering if any of the group would like to hook up and go to see The Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra on 25 July. Tickets are $25-30. Are you able to email the group with the suggestion? I am happy to purchase tickets (so we can sit together) but would appreciate payment before I do (if people are interested, then they can bring money on Tuesday? and I will book tickets asap). WIUO ask for people to bring their ukes for a The Proclaimers audience participation song!

    Cheers
    Erin
