WWAM! - May - Global Accessibility Awareness Day

Details
Thanks to everyone that attended the April WWAM! If you couldn't made it (or if we lost you in the transition between venues) you can read the recap of the night here. (https://www.meetup.com/Wellington-Web-Accessibility-Meetup/pages/Recap%3A_WWAM%21_-_April)
Celebrating Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2015
This month's May meetup will coincide with GAAD (http://globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/gaad.html), the Global Accessibility Awareness Day co-founded in 2012 by Jennison Asuncion, who runs the Bay Area Accessibility and Inclusive Design (https://www.meetup.com/a11ybay/) meetup, in our sister city of San Francisco.

The GAAD community is very active - Twitter users can follow @gbla11yday (https://twitter.com/gbla11yday) (hashtag #gaad (https://twitter.com/hashtag/gaad)) and the official GAAD Facebook page is here (http://www.facebook.com/globalaccessibilityawarenessday).
Theme: Accessibility and me
WWAM! will join in celebrating GAAD, with attendees encouraged to present for up to 2 minutes on the theme of Accessibility and me.
We want you to think about what Accessibility means to you, and why you care about improving it for others.
If you have slides and want to get creative, please do bring them as we will have a projector.
And if this is your first (or second) time and you really have no idea what Accessibility, is or are unsure about what you do know, then don't worry, just bring your curiosity and your ears :)
We hope that the May meetup will help foster a sense of community, by giving us some insight into each other's motivations for improving Accessibility, and an increased appreciation of the wide range of different people that will benefit when we create responsibly.
Come and join us at our new venue for a drink and a nibble, and be an active part of Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2015 (http://globalaccessibilityawarenessday.org/gaad.html)!
Timetable
We appreciate that it's getting colder and many of you are busy and are keen to get home to a hot meal, so bearing that in mind:
The meetup start time has been bumped forward to 6.15pm, to allow people to get settled and enjoy a Tuatara beer or refreshment beforehand.
We'll endeavour to kick off properly at 6.30pm for a brief introduction to WWAM! followed by the mini presentations and questions, which will take us through to around 7pm.
Then member Jason Kiss will give a short presentation on real people using a wide range of fun and fantastic Assistive Technologies to access the web. After this there will be time for discussion, questions, chatting and networking, and we hope to be wrapped up by 8pm.
There are several great bars a stone's throw away for anyone keen to keep the conversation going after this. :)
How to find us
After arriving at 275 Cuba St, walk past the building then turn left, heading down the side of the building until you see the WWAM! Meet Up sign, which will be posted on the glass by the lifts.
Please note that the outside door locks at 6pm, but we'll endeavour to have someone posted there to let you in. If you get stuck you can contact Dan on 021 136 9346.
Thanks
Many thanks to the Enspiral Dev Academy (http://devacademy.co.nz/) for providing our new space and ongoing support for the Wellington development community.
