Details
π© Whatβs the plan?
Just a lazy after work loop walk taking in Kapakapanui trig, and a couple of huts.
π© What you need to do
Be able to walk at a pace that is not a crawl. Do some reading about this trip as you'll need to be responsible for yourself. If you think you'll be slow then don't sign up!
π© Transport and Carpooling:
Meeting at Ngatiawa Road end at 5pm, arrange your carpooling in the comments
π© What to bring
β Good walking shoes β preferably with good grip
β Suitable clothing to walk in (with layering as it could get cold if it is windy)
- Head Torch and spare batteries
β snacks
β water, at least 1 litre, you can fill up at the hut
β rain and windproof jacket - Some dry shoes to put on when returning to the car.
Cancellations
It's happening so harden up!
π© Etiquette:
π Answer all RSVP questions whether you are on the waiting list or not.
π Study the description and meeting points. Preparation is paramount for an incident-free trip.
π Drivers especially need to know where to go beforehand, otherwise arriving at the wrong place, can inconvenience the whole group.
π Be considerate by keeping your RSVP up to date at all times, and do not pull out 24 hours or less, before the trip begins, otherwise, you will block someone who may want to join.
π Please be contactable, to others. If organisers need to, or your passenger/driver need to make arrangements etc, then make sure private messaging (via meetup) is not blocked, your cell phone is turned on, and text messages are regularly checked.
π Pay your driver.
π Please DO NOT RSVP if you are going to join the hike late, or leave early. It just makes things complicated and difficult to organise.
π Keep together as a group β i.e. not too fast or too slow. If you think you are very slow please DO NOT RSVP.
Thanks π©
Note: When you sign up you'll be put on the "Waitlist". You'll then be assessed before being moved to "going" or "not going". This is for your safety and our karma π
