What we're about

This group is for any one keen to build the courage and fitness to set, meet, and exceed their running goals. Focused on non-runners, we will host a weekly run meetup to build your confidence, encourage positive mental well-being and motivate you on your journey to become a runner.

I have personally experienced the anxiety that comes along with getting out there for a run for the first time. As a woman, there were even more worries that prevented me from hitting the pavement. And when I finally did, 5 minutes of running felt impossible and I would quickly feel defeated.

Keen to help new runners squash those feelings and create a running space where all beginners are welcome and supported.

Each meetup we will focus on the fitness and confidence of those who are there. With options around working towards time, or distance. Walking and running intervals (no... not speed sessions!) are encouraged while you work your way up to longer running intervals.

Running is such a strong tool when it comes to supporting our mental well-being and a great way to see the beautiful Wellington outdoors. Please come run with us!

Weekly Beginners Run

Mac's Brewbar

We will meet at the waterfront just outside of Macs Brew Bar for our starting location. This will be a slow run/ walk and run. 20 minutes out and 20 minutes back. Please keep in mind this is focused on anyone who is keen to start running but has never had the courage/ motivation/ belief that you could do it! You definitely can and we are excited to meet everyone. A big part of this group is to encourage positive mental wellbeing. Come run with us and get lots of support and friendship - an opportunity to identify anything that may be weighing you down and let go of it as the endorphins kick in. We will be making this a weekly occurrence.
