Hi Everyone. This is a day and night Challenge event based in the Brecon Beacons. It can be experienced as a stand alone Challenge or used to help you with preparation for any Challenge Events that you are doing in 2020. Maybe you are doing or thinking of trying the Welsh 3 Peaks, Beacons 24, Snowdonia 8 summits or any other event that will require you to do a lot of walking, ascent and distance. If so, this could be what you are looking for to prepare you for a challenge event. The idea of the event is to guide you on a full day walk in mountain terrain with the aim of walking at a steady pace and covering distance and ascent/descent. At the end of the walk we will head to the hostel for a bite to eat and a question and answer session. We will then head back out at night for a guided mountain walking night time session. After we have climbed another mountain we will then head back to the hostel for a sleep. In the morning we will have breakfast and discuss any more questions you may have before heaading out for a half day Gentle walk before you head home. By the end of the weekend you will have experienced being guided on a long days walk, a night time walk, a small day walk and been able to ask any questions you might have on training, kit, nutrition etc. The cost of the Challenge Preparation event is £90 Included in this price is: 3 Professionally guided walks consisting of 2 Day walks and 1 night walk 2 Question and answer sessions Hostel accommodation for 1 night Not included: Food and snacks and personal kit RSVP for £90 and the full payment secures your place When you have booked you will be given a suggested kit list for the event. Hi everyone. You are invited to join me for a day in to night time walk up to the lakes and on to the Carmarthen Fans. The walk will have a gradual ascent and the experience of walking from day into night is an interesting one. If you have not experienced it before it is good idea to see what it would be like if you have to do it yourself one day. The Beacons is a Dark Skies area and if the night is clear we will have fantastic views across South Wales and of the stars and milky way. I look forward to an enjoyable day in to night time adventure with you. You will be required to bring waterproofs, spare warm top, food, water, hat gloves and a headtorch. We will meet at Llangadog train station and then head up to the mountain in convoy from there. Thanks Ben Welsh Mountain Walks is commited to Quality over Quantity and operates to the highest professional standards.
Hi Everyone. This walk is a challenging circular walk on to Pen Allt Mawr, Pen Carreg Calch and Table Mountain, above Crickhowell, in the Black Mountains . We will walk up a valley and then do a traverse of the peaks before our return to our starting point for a well earned cuppa or beer. The route involves about 21km km of walking on varied terrain and about 800 m of ascent/descent. This walk is part of the Offer programme of Challenging Walks as well. If you are already booked on to the offer you DO NOT need to Rsvp, as your place is already confirmed. If you have any questions just ask and I look forward to guiding you as an experienced Mountain Leader and Brecon Beacons Ambassador. If the weather is terrible I will adjust the route accordingly. The walk starts at 9 am so please ensure you are at the meeting point and ready to go for 9am. Thanks. I believe in Quality as opposed to Quantity, hence places on my walks are limited to keep group sizes manageable, in accordance with best practice for a fully qualified, experienced, insured, Mountain Leader. I look forward to guiding you.
Hi Everyone, This is a Gentle/Mod walk for those members who want to walk in the stunningly beautiful Vale of Ewyas above Llanthony Priory in the Black Mountains The pace will be leisurely whilst we enjoy the views and eachothers company on a relaxed walk. I will discuss the history and geology of the area. The walk as always will be at a pace that is suitable for all participants. As an insured Mountain Leader I operate to safe client to leader ratios and as only I lead thw walks so you can be assured of a safe, consistent friendly experince. Quality, rather than quantity, is what I do and therefore group sizes are smaller, which is also much better for the mountain environment. If you have any questions just ask. This walk is also part of the Gentle/Mod Offer All the best Ben
