Hi Everyone.Do you want to explore the hills and mountains but need some help with your navigation? Do you want to know how to avoid becoming temporarily misplaced/lost? Have you wanted to know how a map and compass works? This day will be about learning the basics and then applying them on a journey on to Mynydd Myddfai which also has fantastic views of the whole of the Brecon Beacons. I have 20 years experience in helping people learn how to navigate and I do it in a friendly relaxed and enjoyable way. There are limited places for this day so RSVP early. 1 person already booked. We will meet at the Myddfai Village hall, have a cup of tea and after an introduction to the basics we will head out for a day of practical coaching in Navigation basics. You will need to bring a compass( Silva 4 recommended), waterproofs, boots, hat, gloves, warm clothes, lunch and drinks. I will provide maps and instruction and a fun day of learning and of course ongoing coaching on future walks that you attend, Any questions drop me a line. The group size will be limited so that I can provide plenty of personal input and coaching. You can be assured that I run courses in Navigation where quality of experience is put before quantity of participants. I look forward to sharing a great day out with you. Have a look at the group reviews for this day below to get an idea of what I am like Thanks for a fab intro to map and compass walking -as opposed to just following along behind someone else. This is a special offer. This circular walk, from Pontneddfechan, visits lots of waterfalls including the famous Sgwd yr Eira which is the one that you can walk behind. As I am a Brecon Beacons Ambassador and a Geopark Ambassador I will talk about the trees, geology and industrial history of the area. The walk can be quite adventurous in places so walking boots are advised for stability and you will also need hat, gloves, waterproofs, water and lunch. The walk will take about 5 hours or so depending on the weather and underfoot conditions and is about 10 miles . After the walk we can visit the pub or cafe where I will be very happy to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to guiding you on this superb walk. This walk is Dog Friendly.
