About us

This group is for anyone who has experience and is interested in hiking, backpacking, kayaking and possibly rock climbing. Mostly we will be hiking. I started this group so that I can continue my passion for getting out there and exploring the great outdoors.

Join us for a quick pay 5 mile hike through the Crows Nest. We will either loop around the Crows Nest or possibly head over to French Creek and loop in the park and come back.

This will be a brisk pace. Possibly one stop for a two minute water break.

Loop hike of 12-13 miles depend depending on the exact route. There will be a little bit of road hike, there will be about a mile and a half on a hall road, which is probably dirt/gravel. Hike past a couple of water sources.

hike a bit along the Tuscarora Trail.

Total elevation gain of about 2500 feet.

We will stop somewhere around noon Ish maybe a little later to take a break and snack. Approx 5-10 min. Be sure to bring enough hydration with you.

There is an optional out and back that would add 3 miles and 900 feet of gain adds a bit under two hours, depending on how quickly you can Climb it .

I’ve never hiked in this state park . Be good to check that box.

Zion National Park is located in southwestern Utah and is renowned for its massive sandstone canyons, towering cliffs, and diverse ecosystems where the Mojave Desert, Great Basin, and Colorado Plateau converge. We plan explore this park September, 2026! We hope to obtain permits (lottery opens July 1, 2026) to hike the iconic Angel's Landing and The Subway. If not, there are plentiful other spectacular hikes in and out of this park.
- The Narrows: A challenging hike through a slot canyon, beginning at the end of the Riverside Walk.
- Emerald Pools: A popular trail to waterfalls, with options for different difficulty levels, accessible from the Zion Lodge or Grotto Shuttle Stop.
- Kanarra Falls: Beautiful waterfalls in a slot canyon, a short distance from the park.
- Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park: Unique pink sand dunes.

We plan to stay at Zion Villa True North. This house offers a uniquely intimate experience away from the crowds and right in the heart of the natural beauty of Zion National Park. The property is located on Kolob Terrace Road, minutes and even walking distance to many popular hiking trails, caves, and overlooks. Click HERE for details! Cost is $650.00 ($93/night) plus airfare, car rentals, meals, permits and park pass.
