Strenuous 8.5 miles / 13.7 km
Work off the Christmas turkey and follow me around Winnie the Pooh Country. A repeat of last years walk... will we meet the Winnie the Pooh Family again ?
A non-stop circular walk starting at Gills Lap. We have a good hill start and left at the top towards and then through 100 Aker wood (500 Hundred Acre to grown ups) continuing on we go past Hartfield before starting our journey back. If in good time we get to play Pooh Sticks at Pooh Bridge and a steep climb back via the AA Milne Memorial and the Heffalump Trap. Carrying on up the long hill we pass The Enchanted Place ( Gills Clump ) then Finally back to the starting point. After the walk we have the option of heading up to the Hatch Inn by car for the BBQ Thanks to Jackie for finding this out for us..
The walk is marked as strenuous, as there are big hills and non-stop walking apart from water breaks. So as to be able to get to the Hatch Inn within plenty of time.
This is a circular walk
Please note that there is a £2 voluntary contribution for non-Rambler members towards meetup fees.
Paid up members of the Ramblers are welcome on any of our walks, but we would encourage you to RSVP. This is to give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending, and also to keep the numbers manageable.
If, on the day of the walk, you are still on the waiting list and a Rambler member, please let the walk leader know you are coming. On the day of the walk only, the group leader can be contacted on[masked] - voice calls only (no texts).
