What we're about
We are a mixed group of friendly and enthusiastic walkers who meet every couple of weeks to explore West Norfolk and the North Norfolk Coast. Most of our walks are within easy reach of King's Lynn.
PLEASE NOTE IF YOU FOUND US THROUGH FACEBOOK: to attend walks you need to be a member of the group so you'll need to sign up for Meetup from this page.
If you enjoy walking in this area, or are looking for a fun way to keep fit and meet some new friends in the process, this may be just the group for you! Everybody is welcome, even if you're only staying in the area for a little while but would like to go on a led walk.
Our walks are on Sundays and are around 16-19 km (10-12 miles - about 4 - 5 hours with stops), with occasional shorter walks (8-11 km, 5-7 miles) and the scope to do longer summer hikes. We usually walk once a fortnight. We also have occasional trips away hike in some of the uphill areas in the UK. We hold regular social events on non-walking weekends.
Our members come from all walks of life so you can pretty much guarantee some interesting conversations whilst taking in the scenery and getting some exercise!
The group is not affiliated to any other body, and it costs nothing to join, but there will be a charge of £1.50 per walk to cover the cost of the Meetup subscription, and advertising. So as not to penalise regular walkers, no one will pay for more than 10 walks, however many they attend. Any surplus at the end of the year will be donated to charity. New members can give us a 'trial run' with their first 3 walks being free.
We hope you’ll want to try us out. Before joining, please read the FAQs page (http://www.meetup.com/West-Norfolk-Walkers/pages/West_Norfolk_Walkers_FAQs/), to see if this group is a good fit for what you're looking for! If you have any questions, please email Tim on firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that it is our policy to remove any members who are inactive for over six months.
