What we’re about

This Meetup group is for professionals that work from home and can sometimes miss the social aspect of a work environment. If you work from home join us in creating a community of other work from home professionals. Our objective is to address challenges faced in this community of professionals missing an office environment. We will attempt to fill a social component of office life that isn't satisfied when you work from home by hosting brainstorming sessions, working coffee meetups, happy hours, outings, nature walks and other events.

Are you challenged by time management when you don't have office workers watching? Do you miss going to baseball games with the company outing? Have you just started your own business from home and notice that although you're caught-up on all the laundry and the honey-do list, time is flying by without getting through your revenue-generating to-do list (i.e. invoicing, social media, ordering business cards, filing taxes)? Professionals who work from home are faced with unique challenges and the struggle IS real! Join us at one of our events to tell us how you master these challenges or which ones you need help with most.

Together we will have the best of both worlds - autonomy and independence of working from home with the support and comradery of a community.

Work from Home Professionals: Guidelines & Respect

In an effort to protect our members and prioritize their well-being we ask that you abide by the following general guidelines:

1. Message Respectfully: Don't spam members using messages, emails, discussion boards or other methods. Content sent to a member that is irrelevant, impersonal, unsolicited, promotional, or repetitive is spam, and members may be blocked for spamming.

2. Accurate Self Representation: Do not misrepresent yourself in the group and to fellow members. Using your real name and a profile picture with a recognizable picture of your face not only aligns with the purpose of building a community but also helps organizers to find you at events and make you feel welcomed.

3. This is Not a Dating Platform: There are many online tools for singles to find one another and this Meetup Group is not one of them. Please attend the events because you are interested in the objective of creating an inclusive environment of people that work from home, not because you are looking for a date. Making uninvited advances at people that are attending our events reduce the quality of their experience, cause discomfort and can result in the removal of membership.
