What we're about

Death Café is an open group meeting that gathers about 6-8 weeks to enjoy refreshments and talk about death. Why? because unfortunately, this topic is uncomfortable and a Death Café can change that.

Topics range from personal stories, grief, rituals, aging, books, advice - to humor! -- It is also okay to just come and listen. We are not, however, a support group for people who are actively grieving or in end-of-life planning stages. Think: table-top-talk....topic? >>> death!

Free to attend

We ask attendees are 17 and older PLEASE!

You MUST RSVP. NO WALK-IN's!

Florida Death with Dignity: SEMINAR

Heartwood Preserve

December 12 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
TOPIC:
Florida Death with Dignity

“The greatest human freedom is to live and die according to our own desires and beliefs”
______________________________________________
How Florida Death with Dignity started:
Having always believed that there has to be a better way concerning how people die and the lack of openness about death in America, Tony came across the Death with Dignity website. Enrolling in the Dignity 50 Roadmap Series led him to meeting Valerie Lovelace, Statewide Campaigns Director, Death with Dignity National Center (DDNC). With guidance from DDNC, Tony accepted the challenge to organize and lead a grassroots movement to educate Floridians and work towards legislation for medical aid in dying. The group Florida Death with Dignity was founded in November 2020 and is an all-volunteer, independent, non-political, non-sectarian organization.
