Where on the Western Slope do you live? how long have you been there? Where did you come here from? How did you learn about the WSA group and why did you join? Do you plan to be an "Active" member or is WSA just one more web registration for you?

I've lived in Fruita since 1991, moving from North Dakota. I'm definitely an active member!

How and about what time in life did you get started with outdoor recreation? What are a few of your favorite outdoor activities?

My father was in the Park Service and as a kid, I used to run all over the Badlands of North Dakota, the Black Hills of SD when we were at Rushmore, and many other wild places.

What is the most challenging hike, bike, backpack, 14er, canyoneering, ski/snowshoe, river trip or other outing you've ever done? How or why was that; and, would you do that or something similar again?

Mt. Whitney: 22 miles in one day. One long, amazing day! You bet!

Where is the most scenic place you have ever slept in a tent, walked or biked on a trail or travelled by paddle or oar down a river?

Topping out on a winter climb of Mt. Sneffels.

After you've been on a few events with us, what kind of event might you be willing to to initiate and share with fellow WSA adventurers? Organize a hike? road or mtn bike ride? an evening on the river? a ski or snowshoe on Grand Mesa? Or... ?

How about the 2015 Halloween Party?!

Introduction

I'm an avid hiker and adventurer!

What daniel lee w. is saying about this Meetup Group

I'm glad I can be part of this. If you think that any video game can compare. If you think you can't wait for for that next video from Nextflix to come in. If NCIS, or American Idol, or even Survivor is all that gets you through the middle of work and life. Walk a little, move around, breath the air, feel the environment around you, streams or waterfalls in the spring, flowers, trees, meadows, birds, chipmunks, deer, elk, clouds, rain, blue skies, muddy trail, desert wash, sandstone cliffs, Rocky mountains. We were born to live. Sit after living, then rest. Then when the sun rises in the morning,... LIVE AGAIN! ect...ect...ect.
