Where on the Western Slope do you live? how long have you been there? Where did you come here from? How did you learn about the WSA group and why did you join? Do you plan to be an "Active" member or is WSA just one more web registration for you?

We live in Montrose and we have lived on the western slope for 6 years. We came from northern Arizona. (Prescott) We found out about WSA thru Paul Sheya.

How and about what time in life did you get started with outdoor recreation? What are a few of your favorite outdoor activities?

Hiking, camping, river rafting, jeeping, outdoor concerts, hotsprings, cross-country skiing, and snorkeling!

What is the most challenging hike, bike, backpack, 14er, canyoneering, ski/snowshoe, river trip or other outing you've ever done? How or why was that; and, would you do that or something similar again?

We enjoyed biking the 32 mile Glenwood canyon trail. Climbing to the top of Mt. Sneffles in the San Juan range was AWESOME! Most challenging hike was probably the Kalalau trail on the Napali coast of Kauai or hiking Grand Canyon. Rafting the Colorado River in Grand Canyon is definitely the most challenging river we've ever done.

Where is the most scenic place you have ever slept in a tent, walked or biked on a trail or travelled by paddle or oar down a river?

Most scenic place we've slept in a tent? Wow, that's a hard one. Havasupai (Grand Canyon), Playa Ballena Beach in Costa Rica, or the beach in Baja , Mexico. Our favorite playground is the San Juan Mountains.

After you've been on a few events with us, what kind of event might you be willing to to initiate and share with fellow WSA adventurers? Organize a hike? road or mtn bike ride? an evening on the river? a ski or snowshoe on Grand Mesa? Or... ?

We like riding bikes, but not extreme mtn. biking. We do downhill ski some, but prefer cross-country.
