‘Out With the Old, In With the Young’

In this opinion editorial from the New York Times Astra Taylor lays out multiple reasons why she (she mentions that she just turned 40), and many other ‘younger’ people, see our society as significantly hamstrung by the interests of the old. There are now, as rarely before, vast differences in social and political opinions between the young and the old. The article does a thorough, detailed job of laying many of these out and explaining them, and of suggesting why and how they should be remedied. These issues and ideas should provide plenty of meat for discussion.
