What we're about

Most of our Meetup activities support non-profit organizations, whether historic or arts-related.

Whimsicalidocious (https://www.whimsicalidocious.org) is the federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by the Academy of Omniosophical Arts & Sciences (https://www.omniocademy.com), with programs designed to curate and cultivate the genteel arts, supporting and promoting all manner of artists, crafters, artisans, and other creatives, with an emphasis on literacy advocacy and cultural connectivity.

Our long-term goal is to have a brick & mortar home where artists and patrons can share their talents and interests. Currently, our Meetup group hosts a weekly author “write-in” in SoCal.(Corporate name: Whimsicalitea; Federal Tax ID number: 81-5396395)

For tea-specific activities & trips, see our Tea Travellers group: https://www.meetup.com/Tea-Travellers-Societea-SoCal/
For get-togethers that focus on fandom, theme events, and all things fantastical, check out our Omniocademy + Siren School group: https://www.meetup.com/Omniocademy (https://www.meetup.com/SirenLife/)

Contra dancing for beginners

Downtown Anaheim Community Center

THIS IS A NO-HOST EVENT SHARED FROM Folk Music Concerts & Contra Dances w/The Living Tradition Contra dance: no fancy footwork, just walking figures to lively music - and lots of laughter. We are beginner-friendly and also have a free lesson at 7:10 pm. No partner needed! We change partners every dance, and boy-girl doesn't matter; so come alone, with a group, or with a partner. Dress for a little exercise & wear comfy shoes. We offer free cold lemonade (and usually a dessert or snack). For more about contra dancing and our dances, visit http://www.thelivingtradition.org If you can walk; you can contra dance. If you hear the live band and see the fun, you cannot resist! Dancing begins at 7:30 and ends at 10:30. Prices: $10 for non-members; $8 for members, seniors, Anaheim residents, & students. Kids under 18 are free with a paid adult. For more info’ contact Jocelyn Vilter at [masked] or [masked].
