Algorithmic Programming and USACO Contest
Details
Learn algorithmic programming! These contests are provided by USACO, an organization that forms the USA team to compete at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). This is the most prestigious programming competition in the world, targeted at high school students.
We will be using Java as our programming language. Anyone can join, but knowledge of Java will be required to fully understand the solution implementation. The contests are fun and challenging, and the folks at USACO have done a tremendous job in coming up with creative problems.
This is an online event only. We will be using our online coding platform, CodePad (https://codepad.site), where you can program in Java with no installation required! This means you can use a laptop, Chromebook or iPad with a keyboard. Our easy-to-use but advanced platform supports multiple files, various languages and frameworks, and hosts deployments. Best of all, it's FREE! When you sign up for this meetup, you will be given a Zoom link to join the class.
Want to learn more?
If you want to learn more about algorithmic programming and USACO, take a look at https://whizkidzcc.com/schedule where we offer the "Competitive Programming - USACO Bronze Level Prep" class. The Bronze Level is the first level, and passing this is a very admirable achievement since it requires dedication and lots of practice. We are proud to have had a number of students passed, with some scoring 100%!
This class has a prerequisite that you complete at least the first two Java courses at WhizKidz. If you need to learn Java, take the Java Programming 1 class, which is the first of 5 courses in the Java Series.
