What we're about

Local group for Women and allies in the Agile community, living in Seattle or the greater surrounding area. Women in Agile is a collective effort to recruit, network, promote, and support the work of outstanding women in the agile community through blogging, speaking at events, and building a network surrounded by people of all genders.

Due to covid, we are currently a virtual community, meeting on zoom. Our meetings are mostly on Thursdays at 5PM PST, however, in order to have the largest selection of speakers, we occasionally move our date and time.

Liberating Structures with Anna Jackson (and Fisher Qua!)

Link visible for attendees

Liberating Structures are for creating opportunities for everyone (including ourselves) to become what we are capable of becoming. Plus, we want to inspire more kindness and reduce suffering in the world!

When you feel included and engaged, do you do a better job? Do you think teams in which people work well together produce much better results? Have you noticed the best ideas often come from unexpected sources? Do you want to work at the top of your intelligence and give the same opportunity to others?

Here’s your opportunity to learn about Liberating Structures from a long-time expert in the field. She will show us how to use a few of the tools and actually experience them in real-time.

Anna Jackson, MSSW, has been a Liberating Structures practitioner for about a decade. Based in Austin, Texas, Anna contributes to the growth of the global LS community by organizing a range of formal and informal network activities. She first learned LS while facilitating mental health-related change projects across Texas and now works across domains in many geographies. In addition to regularly leading immersion workshops alongside local design ensembles, she has a deep commitment to continuously renewing, growing, developing, and supporting the global network. Anna co-organized the first LS Global Gathering with her business partner Fisher Qua, with whom she hosts various communities of practice, helps advance administrative tasks, matches up practitioners across geographies and domains, shares writing projects, coordinates workshops and other learning events, and reflecting regularly on the evolving nature of their practice with LS.
