A Wikipedia celebration and mini-conference at Ace Hotel for the project's 16th birthday.
In addition to the party, the event will be a participatory unconference, with plenary panels, lightning talks, and of course open space sessions.
We also hope for the participation of our friends from the Free Culture movement and from educational and cultural institutions interested in developing free knowledge projects.
Wikipedia Day conference activity is 10:00 am – 7:00 pm, and the after-party with DJ Ripley is 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
We'll also have an exhibition of highlights from New Yorkers' photography for Wikimedia Commons, including from the Wikipedia @ Open House New York weekend photo competition.
