This is a group for anyone who loves nature photography. We will visit various locations throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to explore, take pictures and have fun. Our subject matter will include landscapes wildlife, insects, flowers, night photography, etc. We also will be offering a lightroom class in the future. Some events are free and others cost a fee.

Most events are lead by John Slonina a professional nature photographers who work is nationally recognized. He teaches photography across the US at photo conventions. trade shows. lectures, classrooms and I lead photo tours and workshops. Find out how to create award winning images and shoot like a pro. Develop your own personal vision and take your photography to the next level while having fun.

All skill levels are welcome from absolute beginner to pro.

Florida has some incredible locations from the mountains to the sea. We will visit a wide variety of locations and photograph several different subjects. We also will visit several other top locations throughout the US.

Everglades, Big Cypress (Best of FL) Wildlife Photo Workshop

Join us on a photo workshop or photo tour to some of the best locations of Florida including Everglades and Big Cypress National Parks. We will also be spending several days with incredible endless photo opportunities. The goal of this trip is simple explore some of the best sections of Florida and get incredible photographs that you will never forget. Florida's unique wildlife and climate make it a nature photographers paradise. This is John's favorite locations Wild Florida at it's best. Wild, Beautiful and tons of wildlife. Florida is the premier destination for bird photography. Expect to shoot thousands of bird photos along with other wildlife and awesome landscapes. February is the dry season. This is the time of year when the tropical storms and the summer rain have passed. The lower water levels means the wildlife is more concentrated and easier to find and photograph. Each day we will visit some of the best spots in the state. Each area is handpicked to provide the best photographic opportunities. John Slonina is a professional nature photographer who has photographed in Florida's wild locations for over 20 years. We will travel to a variety of natural habitats. We will be visiting several A+ locations. They include classics like Sanibel Island, Everglades, Big Cypress National Reserve. Estero Lagoon etc. We also will be visiting several secret locations like Eagle Nests, Nesting owls, Rookeries, Osprey nests etc. We also will be visiting one of the best locations in Everglades National Park and Big Cypress Reserve. Please bring lots of cards We also recommend you bring a portable external hard drive to back up your images. We also have some companies we work with that rents longer lenses. Florida is famous for some tame birds that will stand just a few feet in front of you. When: February 1 - February 7, 2019 Price: $2795 This includes 6 nights hotel (single occupancy) Transportation to and from airport (you do not need a car) Also instruction, transportation, tolls, refuge7 fees. We will be prescouting some locations before the trip starts. I also will be getting recent reports, and monitoring tides and water levels. Each day is paced to maximize photo opportunities and the schedule will be flexible to maximize getting the best light. Transportation: Transportation from hotel to field locations is included. There is an shuttle to and from the hotel to Fort Myers Airport if you fly in. What's Included: The hotel is included in this tour. Transportation is included from hotel to and from refuge. This will also include pickup and dropoff at Fort Myers Airport. No need to rent a vehicle. Not Included: Food is not included. We will eat at local restaurants. The hotel will have breakfast. Cancellation Policy: If you cancel before 120 days of departure you will receive a full refund. Within 120 days you will lose deposit. Within 60 days you will lose the full amount. Central Florida Wildlife (Coastal and Inland)

Join us on a bird and wildlife photo workshop or photo tour to some of the best locations in Central and the East Coast of Florida. We will be spending 6 days with incredible photo opportunities. This is a trip of a lifetime. Florida is one of the best places in the world to photograph wildlife. Expect to shoot thousands of bird photos along with other wildlife and awesome landscapes. Escape the winter cold and visit warm Florida. This bird photography tour will not overlap the areas covered on my Southern Florida Photo tours or workshops. The goal of this trip is simply explore the best bird photography areas of the East Coast and Central Florida and shoot incredible amazing photographs that you will never forget. Florida's unique wildlife and climate make it a nature photographer's paradise. In February, the tropical storms and the summer rain have passed. This is the dry season in Florida. The lower water levels means the wildlife is more concentrated and easier to find and photograph. No mosquitos at this time of year. Florida has incredibly tame birds. It is common to have some species just a few feet away on multiple occasions. We should be able to get full frame photos since many birds and other animals are just a few feet away. John Slonina is a professional nature photographer who has photographed in Florida's wild locations for over 20 years. We will be visiting several A+ locations some of the best in the state. Each area is handpicked to provide the best photographic opportunities at a wide variety of habitats. This includes classic locations along the East and Central Florida Coast including Merritt Island and several relatively unknown locations. We will also visit an incredible swamp in Central Florida. This location has several more nesting owls, nesting herons, frequent Bobcat sightings, armadillos, and several species of birds. We also will be visiting several secret locations; for example eagle nests, nesting barred and great horned owls, rookeries, and osprey nests. We will spend a lot of time visiting my top Roseate Spoonbill locations. We also recommend you bring a portable external hard drive to back up your images. We still recommend a 400+ mm lens. Many companies rent lenses if you don't already own one. Itinerary: The itinerary will be dependent on the weather, tide levels and the amount of rainfall. We will be pre-scouting several locations before the trip starts. I will review recent wildlife reports, monitor tides and water levels. Each day is paced to maximize photo opportunities. The schedule will be flexible to maximize getting the best light. Day 1: Meet at Orlando Hotel at 11 am. John will start with a multimedia presentation on wildlife photography including several tips. At lunch we will have discuss plans for the upcoming week. Afterwards we will leave for an afternoon photo session and photograph until sunset. We will photograph a local eagle nest an or photograph incredible wildlife at a secret location. Day 2 and 3: We will be doing a morning shoot at a secret wildlife location. Afterwards will be switching hotels to the town of Lakeland. This town has several hotspots that are incredible for photography. Lots of great birds including nesting eagles and owls. Day 4: We will start the day photographing at sunrise then return to the hotel in time for checkout. After lunch, we will switch hotels to a new location in the East Coast with several areas loaded with wildlife. We will have an incredible afternoon photographing until sunset Day 5: We will have an incredible sunrise photographing silhouetted birds in flights including nesting herons. The rest of the day will be action packed with several of the top bird photography locations in the US. We will be visiting several locations until sunset with a midday break. Day 6: We will have our early AM photo session and then check out of hotel by 11 am. We will then head back to Orlando Airport for late afternoon flights. Group Size: Our group size is limited to six people. This is substantially smaller than most photography tour companies. This offers several advantages. Maximize Learning Personalized one on one attention, critiques, and photography advice. Both in the field and in the classroom. I want to make sure you get the best shots while we are on location. Better Access We get much better access to remote areas than bus tours, day tours and car pools. There are several incredible places that only have room for one or two cars. We will be traveling in one vehicle designed for wildlife viewing. We can access more remote areas and respond quicker to wildlife sightings. Our smaller groups allow a closer approach to wildlife. Larger groups makes animals more nervous. Fitness Level: This trip will involve some short flat walks. Most of the walks are within sight of my tour van, so you do not have to be in great shape for this tour. Transportation: Transportation from hotel to the field locations are included. There is a free shuttle to and from the hotel to the Airport if you fly in. No need to rent a car. Not Included: Food is not included. We will eat at local restaurants. The hotel will have breakfast. The flights to and from Airport are not covered. Getting There: Plane: Orlando (MCO) pickup and drop-off at airport.
