Did you ever know that Englands highest beach is only a short drive away? Up in the hills surrounding Todmorden, is Gaddings Dam. It's a disused reservoir where wild swimming is encouraged. Not only that, but it hosts Englands highest beach. It's only small but contains perfect golden sand.

Conveniently, there is a pub right next to the parking location. I suggest meeting at the pub for some hot food and a pint, then heading up to the beach to enjoy the great outdoors.

If anyone is feeling brave in the morning, then I highly recommend a swim in the reservoir. It's cold in the summer, so you might want a wetsuit.

There are plenty of places to pitch tents or bivvy. The site is very exposed on the top of a moor though. So if the weather forecast ends up being really foul, the meetup might be canceled (or changed venue) at the last minute.

The pub is called the Shepherds Rest Inn, and can be found here: https://goo.gl/maps/fUfjzaKGmKR2 I recommend parking on the road so we don't block the pub's carpark. Nearer the time we will see about ridesharing possibilities.
