18/9/16 #3. 6/9/16 #2. 26/8/2016 #, (updates marked with a #)

I have been Wild Camping for a long time now, up in the mountains, the Surrey Hills, between & beyond. So I thought I'd see if anyone would like to join me, whether curious or experienced. I hope to provide a few options, including; equipment demo meetup for anyone curious. Short, Medium & Long Treks with Wild Camp & hopefully some trips to the mountains at some point.

Wild Camping is about being at one with nature & getting to camp in some amazing places. It's not about having a big party in the woods, although I'm sure a party in some private woods could be arranged at some point.

# People seem to have different ideas about what Wild Camping means. For this group it generally means Stealth Camping, so whilst in a camping area, no bright colours, no bright or white light, minimal noise, with compact kit.

What I hope to offer

To meet members & chat about Wild Camping!

# Absolut beginners "A"

If you've never been wild camping before, mainly talking about kit/equipment, locations.

Basic MeetUp "B"
Meeting during the day to

•see other peoples kit,
•bring yours along,
•practice using your kit,
•get kit ideas,
•how to find places to Wild Camp.

If you have hardly any kit or have questions about where's, how's or what's, you should come on this one before doing outings C,D or E

Basic Wild Camp "C"
A short walk to suitable spot with an over night Wild Camp.

Trek & Wild Camp 1 "D"
About a 15 mile Trek, over night Wild Camp & Trek back, so you need to carry food & water for two days.
I might do a "Basic Wild Camp" the night before as a pre trek gear check?

Trek & Wild Camp 2 "E"
Three days Trek around 40 miles), Two nights Wild Camping, carying food & drink for the trip. May have to find extra water on route.
I might do a "Basic Wild Camp" the night before as a pre trek gear check?

Possibly a trip to some UK mountains "F"

Survival Shelter "G"
Build a simple shelter that gives you some protection for the night & build a shelter for the group to sleep in.
You need to be able to look after your self when you come to any Wild Camping events. Obviously members can give you advice & ideas, but if your ill equipped, you'll not be welcome.
Quite a few of you are experienced in trekking with a tent, but if you haven't carried all of your gear, make sure you come along to all of the MeetUp's I'm running, ie; if you want to do E, you should come to B, C & D.

# Map reading.

#3 DoE training.

# Bespoke MeetUp. For your self or your own private group, any of the above & or similar.

LIGHTS. Please get a head torch with a Red setting, there are some cheap ones out there, I've been using this one from Blacks for about 2-3 years now

#2, If you just want to get out car camping & maybe some sitting around fires, beer, walking, cycling. Have a look at this group, they seem to put lots on.
