- Dawn Chorus walk.
We all hear the birds singing their hearts out in the early hours in springtime. Come along and let local wildlife expert, Andrew Padmore identify the beautiful and varied songs. You're going to have to set an alarm for this one - it's a 4.30am start, but it'll be well worth it! This event is free, but please consider making a donation in the box (£3 suggested).
- Summer Butterfly and Wildflower walk
If you ever go for a walk in the country and wonder about the names of the varied wildflowers and butterflies that you come across, this is an event to put in your diary! Join enthusiasts, Clare and Andrew Padmore on a leisurely walk along Cockmarsh towards Cookham in search of a variety of flora and butterflies. We will walk past some of the most important ‘Flagship’ ponds in the south of England, home to some of our more unusual plants. Further on, to the chalk grasslands on Winter Hill also home to a variety of flowers and butterflies and finally on to the flood plains around Cookham providing yet another contrasting environment. Come armed with a bottle of water, cameras, suitable footwear for the forecast weather and any questions you may wish to ask. Wild flower books and binoculars might also come in useful. Expect beautiful flora and fauna and magnificent views of the Thames Valley at this particularly picturesque point.
