Wildflower identification along the Burrin

Old Penney's Carpark

Continuing our theme of celebrating the green in the urban desert, this time we are taking it to the town centre. We will start in Penneys car park, near where the Burrin joins the Barrow and follow it’s journey back. It will pass under roads, beside football pitches and bus parks. All the while it is a green oasis and a wildlife haven. While we encourage people to be more wary in spots like this, we will be pointing out the edibles growing wild along the way and even in the town the stories are not forgotten. The small print: Charge for this meetup is €5 to be paid on the day. Please wear appropriate footwear, and wear appropriate clothing. This walk is mainly on grassy paths, with possibly some muddy patches. Please wear boots. Anyone taking part does so at their own risk. Eating plants on this walk or on subsequent adventures is at your own risk. Wrongly identifying plants on subsequent walks is done at your own risk. Please consult guidebooks where appropriate
