January 2014 - Windows 8 App Demos & Devices with Food & Prizes

Make plans to attend our first event of 2014.

Find out what it takes to develop successful Windows 8 Apps from Local Developers that have done it already.

The Boston Windows 8 App Group is looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday. Your support matters. As always we'll try to inform, educate and entertain you at the event on Tuesday.

We've got new swag, books and Win 8 dev tool licenses to give away.

Here is a description for Tuesdays event:

The Art of the App – Getting Noticed in the App Marketplace

In this session we will examine apps and games from the Windows Store, download them and discuss how those apps present themselves in the store and the experience they provide the consumer. Through this analysis we will develop a deep understanding of what is necessary to launch a quality app and drive downloads. We will examine both good and not so good examples so that we can learn together what determines success in the app economy. Bring your laptops running Windows 8 so that you can participate in the download, rate and review analysis.

There will be Windows App pros from Microsoft at the event - so bring to answer your questions & ideas.

Here the local apps we will review:

I really learned from the talks. Even though it was marketing oriented. It really covered some very good points.

The address is 1 Cambridge Center, Cambridge, MA 02142. The link to "New Microsoft Offices" above specifies "Boston, MA", but Google Maps is smart enough to figure out the correct location when it shows you the map....
