  • Update - I've decided to plan brunch every other week. A task that will take some effort and we'll have to move them when conflicts arise, but there are so many great places!

    So after having brunch today, I think I'd like to do this once a month and find some new places to try. The Mill on the River has a good brunch from what I've heard, although I haven't been. For $17.95 it includes 2 cocktails (screwdriver, bloody mary, champagne, or mimosa), freshly brewed coffee and herbal teas, one entree selection, and continental brunch buffet. You cannot do just the buffet. They DO NOT issue separate checks, so please bring cash!!!! They also add 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more, so be prepared for that. I'm going to have to set an RSVP limit on this one so please make sure you're mindful with your RSVP to make room for those that can attend. I did also set this for later, as I also think the time worked out well.

    Four Egg Omelette
    custom-made with your choice of ham, cheese, broccoli, mushrooms, and tomatoes

    Quiche Du Jour
    ask your server for our daily variety, served with tossed baby field greens

    Sole Francaise
    sauteed in a delicate lemon, butter, and white wine sauce and served with broccoli spears and rice pilaf

    Fried or Scrambled Eggs
    cooked to order and served with your choice of sweet sausage, bacon strips, or honey ham

    Beef Bourguignonne
    tender cubs of beef slow-braised in a burgundy wine sauce with mushrooms
    and caramelized onions, served with Yukon Gold whipped potatoes

    Belgian Waffles
    topped with sliced seasonal fruits and fresh whipped cream

    Mill Burger
    grilled to order and served with lettuce, tomato, bacon, American Cheese and french fries

    Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
    Romaine lettuce, herbed croutons, and Parmesan cheese tossed with our house-made Caesar dressing

    Eggs Benedict
    English muffins topped with Canadian Bacon, poached eggs, and Hollandaise sauce

    Enough is enough guys. As of Friday, when I called the restaurant, we had 9 people attending. We now have 4! This is not fair to the restaurant or to me. These are the days when it's pretty frustrating to be an organizer.
