What we're about

We gather to share writing, offer peer feedback, and discuss the thrills and challenges of writing. Meetings include workshops, write-in meetings, community events, and happy hours. For now, all meetings are via Zoom. We will add events as life around us changes. We welcome writers in all genres.

Before Covid-19, we were profiled in North Shore magazine and in the Peabody Essex Museum blog, which published our pieces on PEM's Lunar Attraction exhibit. We also hosted a three-part series of events at the House of Seven Gables, including a very popular "Hawthorne 101 and Photo Hunt" event. You can also find us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/witchcitywriters/).

Before attending your first workshop, please read our Workshop Guidelines (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1M8-GudEtU7dmb23EjycEs91uR8OdwuSeU3gS9xupj0c/edit?usp=sharing) and Attendance and No Show Policy (https://docs.google.com/document/d/118-PKzfsDBh0Hh9_mFo6StKaAjqVIrXdS1D9XTLQqk0/edit?usp=sharing). You must attend a workshop before you submit your writing.

In the meantime, happy writing!

VIRTUAL Writing Workshop

Link visible for attendees

Please join us for a writing workshop. Up to three writers can contribute their work, whether it's poetry, part of a novel or screenplay, a short story, or a query. Up to 9 pages, please, double spaced.

After a brief introduction, each writer will read their piece and then we'll provide feedback. Everyone should read the content prior to the meetup.

It would be awesome if everyone edited the content as well, to help the writers as much as possible.

I'll provide a link to the submissions (and edited submissions) folders in this meetup's messages.

I ask for content on the Wednesday prior to the meetup, for upload over the weekend.

Happy writing!
