Alapaha Quest – Rowe Town Church Cemetery to Willacoochee Landing

Join us for the second section on the Alapaha Quest. This is an all day paddle on a wild and beautiful section of the Alapaha River. There is a long portage to the river from the parking area so bring wheelies/carts if you have one and we will help each other get kayaks & gear to the river. Please come early enough so we can begin the shuttle on time. We will shuttle vehicles to the take out at the HWY 135 bridge near Willacoochee (31.30379, -83.05309). Bring PLENTY OF WATER to drink, lunch and snacks, PFD, bug spray, rain gear, camera. Bring a rope in case we need to drag the boats across deadfalls, and expect low-hanging branches. Be prepared for rain showers, event could be cancelled in case of thunderstorms so check back for updates.
We consider this an expert paddle, so please come prepared for everything from having to portage over deadfalls due to low water, to getting lost in the floodplain if the water is high.
