Water Quality Testing Training

Pollutants are getting into our rivers, springs & water wells, affecting fishing, swimming, tourism, health, economy. Where is it coming from? When? What is it? Who did it? You can get certified in both chemical and biological water quality testing. Georgia Adopt-A-Stream trainer Julie Shutters is coming to Valdosta for a six hour training course which includes sampling at a nearby stream or creek. We’re starting with training for the biggest problem area for sewage, which is in the Little, Withlacoochee, and Alapaha River Basins (Tifton, Quitman, Valdosta, and Lowndes County). We will also be putting chemical and biological results on WaterReporter, as well as on Georgia Adopt-A-Stream.
Bring: an idea of where you can go and do river water sampling at least monthly, preferably weekly.
