8.44 miles on the wild and beautiful Withlacoochee River (North). We will paddle through numerous rocky shoals requiring some skills so this outing may not be appropriate for beginners and young children. There are clear springs to explore along the way. You must have a PFD and a whistle, per Florida law. This fun section is also part of the itinerary for Paddle Georgia 2019 later this month.
Bring lunch, snacks, and plenty of water and drinks for a long hot day. We will be taking swim breaks.
We'll meet at Allen Ramp at 8 a.m. to prep boats and be ready to begin the shuttle to the take out at Suwannee River State Park at 8:30 a.m. The shuttle is 20 miles, round trip. There is a $5.00 parking fee at SRSP, it is helpful to have exact cash because the gate attendant might not be on duty.
This outing is free to WWALS members, and $10 (ten dollars) for non-members. We recommend you support the work of WWALS by becoming a WWALS member today!
