Suwannee Paddle & Camp at Adams Tract River Camp

Details

All the river camps were closed due to high water for the Spring Equinox weekend,
so we are rescheduling the Adams Tract Camping paddle for Saturday and Sunday 10-11 April, 2021.

Join us for our first spring paddle, on the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail in Florida!

For this weekend at Adams Tract River Camp on the Suwannee River, screened platforms are available on a first-come first-serve basis but plan for primitive camping and bring a tent or hammock in case platforms are already taken and/or for safe distancing. Bathrooms and showers are available.
Everyone is encouraged to set up your own shuttle to the takeout at Ivey Memorial Park in Branford. If you have no-one to shuttle with, come and met us at Hardenberg Ramp at 9:30. We will work out a traditional shuttle to Branford at 10 a.m. There will be COVID-19 questions, temperature checks, and mask enforcement, as well as riding one person per window. If available and necessary, also one member may be in the bed of a truck. We will launch from Hardenberg at 11 a.m. and paddle 8 miles to Adams Tract and camp. Be aware river access is by steps, with room for one boat at a time to stop at the bottom of the stairs to unload/load gear from your kayak. Bring a bow line to secure your kayak.
Sunday we will paddle 10 miles to Branford, passing several beautiful springs and parks along the way.
This outing is free to WWALS members, and $10 for non-members. You can pay at the outing, or online: https://wwals.net/donations/#join
